NHS Blackpool CGG, Blackpool Council and specialist community engagement professionals at Shared Future CIC have undertaken ‘citizens inquiries’ across Blackpool.
These inquiries involved recruiting a number of local residents from within six Blackpool neighbourhoods who were representative of the populations that live there. The resident group then undertook a citizens’ inquiry process to investigate and analyse issues within the local area, ultimately seeking to answer the following questions: ‘For people living within this neighbourhood, what are the key factors which impact upon their health and wellbeing?’
At the end of this process, the resident groups developed a set of recommendations based upon their findings and presented these to the relevant professionals and organisations via a dedicated feedback event. These findings and recommendations are summarised in reports that can be found here:
